Life by You: Being Set In An Open World
Ever since its release, The Sims 4 has faced considerable backlash due to the reintroduction of loading screens. Despite various mods made by the community, which enable an open-world experience, nothing is quite like what The Sims 3 had initially offered. Bringing back loading screens takes away some of the immersion for players, particularly when transitioning between adjacent lots, and detracts from the life simulator experience.
Right from the outset of its development, Life By You has been designed as an open world game. As Humble highlighted during the game’s unveiling, their motivation for creating an open world in Life By You was that “just like life, it doesn’t have any loading screens, and we didn’t want any loading screens either.”
